university court
the university court is a corporate body with key responsibilities in relation to the university's overall strategic direction and for ensuring that the university's business is conducted in accordance with the approved mission statement and objectives.
senate, academic governance and quality enhancement
academic governance of the university is delegated by the university court to senate. the responsibilities of senate are the planning, co-ordination, development and supervision of the academic work of the university and other assigned functions of the university court, subject to the general control and direction of the university court.
university executive
with the exception of certain powers which it reserves to itself, the court delegates its functions relating to the organisation and management of the university to the principal and vice-chancellor who, assisted by the university executive, is responsible for the day to day running of the university, subject to the control and general direction of the court.
information governance
information governance relates to the management of university information including institutional records management and legal compliance with the requirements of the freedom of information and data protection acts. it also includes monitoring the annual review process of all university policies.
